Kate temps Shane out of his retirement after she struck him a million dollar deal for his lease's. She has a mate who is geologist as wel and they want a shot at gold prospecting on a remaining lease of Shane called the messenger patch. She is in need of the operational skills of Shane to do so. after conferring with his father, he agrees and set's up the operation. Nevel in the meantime takes the Poseidon crew to some secret patches in north-west New South Wales, way out of there normal region of Victoria. Now there going detecting in the great Australian Desert with dust wind's and extreem heat. The patches are promising according to Nevel. Before the leave, he went to the hospital to have a check up about his terminal cancer but not waiting on the result before they leave. Alan and Salty continue prospecting the Karratha aria at the Western Australian coastline, going by water with Salty's river boat. The set out crab pots to catch mud crab's for dinner and set out to detect mud fields but found the fields are bush fields. After the tight forces them back they find the boats being missing. It seems to be vut loss from its moring and lies across the river. Salty decide to swim across thru the croc infested waters to get it. After that the found the crabpots empty so it turns out to be a miserable day, no gold, no food, almost no boat. Shane's patch, in the meanwhile starts to deliver enough gold to make it worth wile. Nevel receives his phonecall with his medical results and is urged back foor more testing. He leaves the Poseidon team to continue there detecting. The dust storm from the day before disappeared so now the can do some real work with the expected results. Alan and Salty detects some gold to in the next day, which made all three team's successful. In the end the Poseidon crew gets a video call of nevel with the latest results which crushes them totally. Nevel's liver is severely struck by the cancer, that the doctor's life estimation is limited to 8-10 month. This comes down so hard that it even made me cry.
